Recycling and Waste Conference: Minimising waste; promoting resource efficiency
25 Feb 2021
About the event
Waste Management is a key challenge of modern society due to the ever-expanding volume and complexity of discarded domestic and industrial waste. Around 22 million tons of waste are sent to landfills and not recycled in the UK every year. Though in a time unlikely any other; with unprecedented lockdown restrictions; a growing disposable PPE waste problem and the deep economics scars of the pandemic – what does the future now hold for a meaningful recycling and waste strategy? Has the ‘new normal’ created by Covid-19 altered approaches to energy efficiency or increased the need for a stronger voice on the issue? Returning for its third year; Salford Professional Developments’ Recycling and Waste Conference will offer ideas for innovation both on a small and large scale. A virtual forum to discuss the latest updates on national policy; best practice and shared challenges.
