Access cavity preparation: from classic theory to modern clinical approach
27 Feb 2024
About the event
Traditionally; the access cavity preparation is one of the first steps for a root canal treatment. Its main aim is to give the clinician access to the innermost of the pulp cavity. Although frequently the attention paid to it is far less than the other steps; a proper access cavity preparation facilitates all subsequent stages of the endodontic treatment. Caries control; tooth restorability; location and preparation of the canal orifices and patency are only a few points where access cavity plays a critical role. The purpose of this webinar is to demonstrate the basic principles of preparing the access cavity; beginning with the traditional shapes and up to the modern; minimally invasive approaches; how these influence the next steps of the endodontic treatment; clinical points of attention and finally; mishaps and ways to prevent them.
