Dementia 2019: Delivering Intervention-led; Personalised and Outcome Focused Care
13 Mar 2019
About the event
There are an estimated 850;000 people in the UK living with dementia. This figure is set to double over the next 30 years; posing a serious challenge to the NHS and the social care system. The current cost; Ł23 billion a year; is more than the cost of cancer; heart disease and stroke. People living with dementia occupy 25% of hospital beds and account for 75% of all care home residents. According to the Centre for Economics and Business Research dementia will cost businesses more than Ł3 billion by 2030; with more staff leaving employment to care for people with dementia.
