The CPD Certification Service was established 1996 and now has over 25 years’ experience providing conference and event certification for Continuing Professional Development. Thousands of CPD training courses, conferences, events, workshops and e-learning programs are formally CPD certified by us every year across a full range of CPD providers from different industries.

CPD stands for Continuing Professional Development and is the term to describe the learning professionals engage in to enhance their abilities. Engaging in Continuing Professional Development ensures qualifications do not become outdated, and allows professionals to upskill regardless of their age, occupation, or industry sector.

There are number of different types of CPD, ranging from Structured CPD, Reflective CPD and Self-directed CPD. Educational conferences and events fall into the category of Structured CPD, and are suitable to obtain CPD certification in order to help individuals attending to count the time towards their annual Continuing Professional Development requirements at their professional body.

CPD Certification for Conferences and Events

Providing CPD event certification can benefit your organisation through increased educational recognition and brand perception. By adding The CPD Service’s recognised CPD Certified symbol to your events can offer attendees reassurance that the further learning achieves the qualitative standards required by professional bodies and industry associations.

The process of gaining event certification is a simple process. The first step is to contact our team to have an informal consultation to ensure the conference or events is educational and therefore suitable for Continuing Professional Development. Our team will find out more about the structure of the event, expected attendees, and the key learning outcomes of the activity. Once we have a clearer understanding of the educational value we can recommend how you can become certified CPD provider.

Review and assessment of your CPD Event

Once you are a CPD provider you can submit your event details to our Assessments team. The Assessments team will evaluate the activity and provide guidance where required. This process is to ensure the conference or event is structured appropriately for educational value with clear learning objectives and outcomes for the audience. Each event is benchmarked against a proven assessment criteria to ensure the required and should it not meet the required certification standards to be approved, the Assessments team will provide recommendations to make improvements. The certification process takes 10-14 working days.

Benefits of Event Certification

Continuing Professional Development can provide many benefits to both your events and its attendees. One obvious advantage is that it provides assurance that learning standards remain high, helping to set you apart from any competitors as a leading educational provider within your industry specialty. CPD Certification shows you take learning seriously and wish to apply a high level of professionalism to your conferences and events.

As a CPD provider you are listed in the CPD Provider Directory and your events can be listed in the CPD Event Calendar for visitors to view and enquire for more information. You are also able to provide educational articles in the CPD news section which can help promote your learning activities to a wide range of interested learners.

CPD Delegate Certificates for Attendees

To help with the administration of your conferences and events we provide a full delegate certificate service (DCS) saving you the time and the cost of post-training attendee certificates administration. An attendee can then add this certificate of attendance to their individual CPD record and submit to the professional body as part of their annual Continuing Professional Development requirements.
