About the CPD course
This 6-hour course; delivered in-person in a full day; or divided into 2 online sessions of 3 hours each; provides an overall understanding of the role of thematic-labelled bonds in shifting sub-sovereign entities' financial practices to more sustainable approaches. It comprises an overview of how these bonds impact the way the market perceives sustainability and what attracts different stakeholders to the labelled bond market. We will discuss the challenges faced by sub-sovereign entities to finance their activities; and supporting mechanisms to overcome them; emphasising the benefits of issuing labelled debt instruments. Using interactive approaches; we encourage learning using polling questions; Q&As; and hands-on exercises.

We achieve this through the development of the Climate Bonds Standard and Certification Scheme, Policy Engagement and Market Intelligence work. The aim is to develop a large and liquid Green and Climate Bonds market that will help drive down the cost of capital for climate projects and improve access to lower-cost debt in emerging markets.
