Personal Safety and Professional Boundaries

About the CPD course

Practitioners must know what constitutes appropriate professional practice. They need to maintain boundaries that can keep them and their clients safe. The client or patient is in a vulnerable position and may be unaware of the boundaries of a professional relationship. It is the practitioner’s responsibility to assist clients with understanding the nature; aim and limits of this relationship. Healthcare practitioners are legally bound to maintain a relationship based on care plans and goals that are therapeutic; both in intent and outcome.
