The course discusses the history of slavery and how it came to be modern slavery; the different forms of trafficking that lead to modern slavery; legislation; policy and procedure; with delegates understanding the full details of the NRM process from start to finish; what support networks exist and the how working in partnership is fundamental to tackling this growing form of abuse.
Palm Cove Society provides supported accommodation and activities which benefit communities. Our focus is on refugees, asylum seekers, migrants, victims of slavery, human trafficking, domestic violence, forced marriage, honour based violence, FGM, homeless people.
We particularly welcome, women, men and children who are leaving abusive circumstances or other individuals similarly disadvantaged. We operate as a halfway house to give individuals the breathing space required to develop life skills and the basic knowledge required for UK living. Many of our residents have now moved on into their own tenancies and are successfully integrated into their new found environment, many return or telephone periodically to access our outreach service.
