About the CPD course

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (for short CBT) is a talking based therapy that focuses on the way thoughts and beliefs are having an impact on the way someone feels and behaves. It teaches the patient coping skills to deal with their problems and break the cycle of negative thought patterns. CBT is often a recommended therapy for mental health issues. The child or young person you care for might one day need CBT. As a foster carer; it will be helpful for you to understand what it is and how you can support the child.
