About the CPD course

Foetal alcohol spectrum disorders (FASDs); cover a variety of disorders that are caused by the exposure of a foetus to alcohol. It affects the development of the foetus and can cause a range of long-term physical; mental; behavioural and learning problems. Each person with FASDs will be affected differently in terms of symptoms and like most disorders; it ranges in severity. It is likely that a large number of children in care are affected by FASDs. As a foster carer; you might encounter a child with this disorder so it will be important to know how to support them.
