Action Against Stalking (AAS), formerly known as Action Scotland Against Stalking, is an umbrella charity which champions the rights of stalking victims in the UK and across the globe. It is crucial to be aware that stalking can happen in many forms to any gender, at any age and anywhere, be it in private life, the workplace, in education establishments or other environments.

    Training Course | Action Against Stalking

    Action Against Stalking

    To understand stalking and the effect it can have on victims. Explore what it feels like to be stalked and develop understanding of its life impact. Learn about the Law and differences within the UK. Explore stalking behaviours; differing stalking typologies; the stalker’s intent. This is a participatory workshop including group work; discussion; use of video media and activities. You will learn about organisations able to support and direct victims of stalking. You will also recognise the need for prompt risk assessment and sound evidence gathering to aid prosecution.

    Action Against Stalking

    We explore through a ‘real life’ case study and its outcomes whether a person who stalks can be influenced by the reactions of their victim. It gives an understanding of the multi-strand nature of events; risks and need for prompt support. We demonstrate the life impact and give insight into victim reactions and behavioural changes in response to being stalking; creating vulnerability. We highlight the stalker’s intent; the Law and behaviours classed as ‘stalking’ under the Law; the effects of underlying mind-sets which subconsciously drive behaviours. This is a participatory course with a written assignment and formal assessment.

    Action Against Stalking

    Through this half-day workshop; understand stalking and its effect on victims. Explore what it feels like to be stalked and develop understanding of its life impact. Learn about related Law. Explore stalking behaviours; stalking typologies; the stalker’s intent. We introduce basic support awareness; the Victim Impact Box (VIB) as an effective tool; helpful in interaction and enabling Victims. You will also recognise the need for prompt risk assessment and sound evidence gathering to aid prosecution. This is a participatory workshop including group work; discussion; use of audio/video media; activities and course overview multi-page handout.

  • Stalking Typologies

    Online Course | Action Against Stalking

    Action Against Stalking

    We explore different types of stalking (Typologies) their origin; stalker motivations and behaviours associated with each distinct typology. We touch on research and different models of stalking classification. We consider context in terms of relationships; the Law and explore mental health in a stalking context – how in some cases this drives motivation and specific behaviours. We look at underlying pre-existing vulnerabilities of both victim and stalker. Victim risks/stressors; also dynamic risk factors for the stalker which influence escalation; recurrence increased danger for the victim. This is a participatory course using ‘real life’ case studies; with a written assignment and formal assessment
