The College of Contemporary Health (CCH) is dedicated to training the healthcare professionals that are needed to attend to health problems related to 21st Century lifestyles. These include obesity mental illness chronic pain and chronic fatigue.

    This online training course aims to increase awareness of the complex nature of obesity for health care professionals, particularly nurses. It will enable these professionals develop a more effective interaction with their obese patients and generate solutions, both personally and professionally.     This online training course aims to prepare fitness professionals for the challenge of working with the complexities that the obese client presents. The fitness professional will understand the underlying aspects of obesity that may be obstructing the progress of their client from achieving their weight and fitness goals and provide the skills to overcome these barriers.     This online course is made up of 3 units of 25 hours each: Causes & Consequences Unit; Behavioural Aspects Unit and Solutions Unit. It explores the causes of obesity in depth to facilitate a greater understanding of the problem in an individual patient and reviews emotional and psychological issues around eating and obesity to explore the possible aetiologies that affect an individual's eating behaviour.
