Fire Safety and Fire Marshal

We provide instruction which includes the following; Legislation; identification of fire hazards and sources of ignition/fuel and oxygen; how to evaluate risks including the Fire Risk Assessment and how it works; understanding the fire detection and warning systems why they are important and how they work; knowing the fire fighting equipment available how they work and on what types of fire they can be used; understand the importance of good; clear escape routes. The fire procedure in a care home setting including evacuation of residents. We also train in the role of a fire marshal; their responsibilities both proactive and reactive; and what actions they should take if a fire should occur.
