About the CPD course

Training is based on the Codes of Practice for both Acts. An in-depth overview is given of the Mental Capacity Act and the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguarding Act. It includes; who is affected; the 5 key principles explained in-depth; when should an MCA or DOLS assessment be applied for; Powers of Attorney; Court of Protection and their Deputies roles; how Advance Directives work; the IMCA’s role; the importance of accurate record keeping; what if a DOLS authorisation is given or refused; the role of the Relevant Person Representative and the importance of reviewing and monitoring; and much more.
