About the CPD course
This Oxplore Teach module looks at the impact of transition from primary to secondary school on learners’ engagement with education; development of academic self-concept and emotional well-being. As research shows that young people from backgrounds of socio-economic disadvantage may be especially vulnerable to becoming disengaged from education at this time; this module suggests some tips and strategies that teachers and other educators could use to support these pupils.
Oxford is a collegiate university, consisting of the central University and colleges. The central University is composed of academic departments and research centres, administrative departments, libraries and museums. The 38 colleges are self-governing and financially independent institutions, which are related to the central University in a federal system. Our 13,000 staff and 22,000 students come from a wide range of backgrounds and over 140 countries and territories, making Oxford a diverse and dynamic place to work and study.
