About the CPD course

LGBT+ people are over-represented in mental health services; are more likely to self-harm; and to attempt suicide. Yet they often seek support at a later stage or choose not to access services at all. LGBT+ Mental Health Awareness is designed to support practitioners and clinicians to understand why this is and identify strategies to develop inclusive practice. You will gain an understanding of: Gender identity and the non-binary framework; Mental health risk and prevalence; The history and impact of pathologisation; Terminology and gender neutral language; Strategies for inclusive practice. This training includes a presentation; group discussion and a Q&A session.
