About the CPD course

Understanding the experience of feeling suicidal; knowing how to respond in the therapeutic relationship and the implications for confidentiality all pose dilemmas for counsellors; who may worry that naming suicide may make things worse. This workshop will help you to recognise; assess and explore risk with confidence. You will learn how to: Identify clients who are at risk; Recognise barriers to seeking help; Explore a client’s suicidal ideation; Develop a safety plan. The training includes presentation; group discussion and role play.
