About the CPD course

Research shows that LGBT+ people experience trauma at higher rates than straight; cisgender people; including child abuse; sexual and physical assault and identity-based trauma. LGBT+ Trauma Informed Practice is designed to support practitioners to recognise the impact of trauma on LGBT+ lives; understand the principles of LGBT+ trauma informed care; and develop strategies to work safely and affirmatively. You will gain an understanding of; the principles of trauma informed practice; types of trauma and trauma triggers; long-term impact of trauma on health and wellbeing; key issues for LGBT+ people; strategies to support LGBT+ clients with a history of trauma.
