An introduction to safeguarding young people. This course aims to
- Describe the different forms of maltreatment
-Indicate what you should do if you have concerns about child maltreatment; including local policies and procedures, who to contact and where to obtain further advice
-Identify the importance of sharing information and the consequences of failing to do so
-Recognise possible signs of maltreatment that you may come across in your work
The Brandon Centre is a charitable organisation that has provided information, mental health interventions and sexual health services to young people for over 50 years. In addition to its core services, the centre provides a wide range of support which includes projects in youth consultation and training, childhood obesity, families with children who are in trouble with the law, photography and parenting. The Brandon Centre has established partnerships with both statutory and voluntary organisations and is committed to improving the health and wellbeing of the young people it supports.
