This short training workshop aims to introduce attendees to the key issues surrounding young people and mental health. This training covers the prevalence of mental health difficulties in young people. How to recognise and ask about mental health difficulties, the developmental context of mental health, self-harm and suicide, and thinking around a range of other key issues.
The Brandon Centre is a charitable organisation that has provided information, mental health interventions and sexual health services to young people for over 50 years. In addition to its core services, the centre provides a wide range of support which includes projects in youth consultation and training, childhood obesity, families with children who are in trouble with the law, photography and parenting. The Brandon Centre has established partnerships with both statutory and voluntary organisations and is committed to improving the health and wellbeing of the young people it supports.
