This training includes an overview of popular social media applications that young people use and what current research tells us about the positive and negative impacts it has on mental health. This training also discusses responsible use and how this relates to the law. Tips on how to manage social media and phone use during activities/ interventions will also be discussed.
The Brandon Centre is a charitable organisation that has provided information, mental health interventions and sexual health services to young people for over 50 years. In addition to its core services, the centre provides a wide range of support which includes projects in youth consultation and training, childhood obesity, families with children who are in trouble with the law, photography and parenting. The Brandon Centre has established partnerships with both statutory and voluntary organisations and is committed to improving the health and wellbeing of the young people it supports.
